Privacy Policy

FairShare is a small, independent software product built for pastors and church treasurers. We collect the minimum information needed to deliver the service. We do not sell your data, we do not share it with your annual conference, and we do not use it to train AI models. Payment information never touches our servers — Lemon Squeezy handles billing.

FairShare is operated by Wroot Labs LLC, a Texas limited liability company. The data controller for personal information collected through fairshare.church is Wroot Labs LLC.

We collect only what we need to operate the service:

• Email address. When you download the free spreadsheet, create an account, request a conference, or join the team waitlist, we collect your email address. For paid accounts we also store the church name you provide.
• Authentication data. When you sign in, we store an encrypted session token. We use Supabase Auth for authentication; passwords are never seen or stored by us in plaintext.
• Application data you enter. Expense scenarios, budget line items, and any year-end figures you enter while using the Scenario tool, the Budget Planner, or the Year-End Review. In the current free preview, much of this data lives only in your browser; for paid accounts, data you choose to save is stored in our database.
• Server logs. Standard request logs (IP address, user agent, timestamp, path) retained for up to 30 days for abuse prevention and troubleshooting.
• Email correspondence. If you email us, we keep the message and our reply.

What we do not collect: We do not run third-party analytics, session-replay scripts, advertising trackers, or social-media pixels. We do not ask for your church’s donor list, individual giving records, or any personally identifying information about your members.

Payments for FairShare subscriptions are processed by Lemon Squeezy, which acts as our merchant of record. Lemon Squeezy collects and processes your billing details (name, billing address, payment card or PayPal account, country for tax purposes). Wroot Labs LLC never sees or stores your full payment card number. After a successful purchase, Lemon Squeezy sends us a webhook with your email, plan, and order ID so we can provision your account.

Lemon Squeezy’s handling of your data is governed by their Privacy Policy.

We use your information to:

• Provide the service you signed up for.
• Send the free spreadsheet and the rare update email when your conference’s rules change.
• Respond to support requests.
• Send transactional account email (purchase receipts, password resets, expiring subscription notices).
• Detect, prevent, and respond to abuse, fraud, or security issues.
• Comply with legal obligations.

• We do not sell or rent your data to anyone.
• We do not share your church’s scenarios or budget data with your annual conference, your district office, or any third party.
• We do not use your data to train AI models.
• We do not send sales or marketing emails. Update emails are infrequent and tied to a conference rule change.

We rely on a small number of vendors to run FairShare:

• Vercel — application hosting and edge delivery.
• Supabase — Postgres database and authentication; data is encrypted at rest and in transit.
• Lemon Squeezy — payment processing, invoicing, and tax remittance (merchant of record).
• Email delivery (transactional) — for account email and the spreadsheet download link.

Each of these vendors processes data on our behalf under their own security and privacy commitments. We do not authorize them to use your data for their own purposes.

FairShare uses a small number of strictly necessary cookies — primarily an authentication session cookie when you sign in. We do not use advertising or analytics cookies. Because we have no analytics or advertising trackers, we do not display a cookie consent banner.

You can, at any time:

• Sign in and edit or delete the data you have entered.
• Cancel your subscription from your account settings.
• Email hello@fairshare.church to request a copy of your data, correction of inaccurate data, or deletion of your account. We will respond within 30 days.

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws like the GDPR (EU/UK), CCPA/CPRA (California), or similar U.S. state laws. We honor those rights regardless of jurisdiction — the rights listed above apply to everyone.

We keep account data for as long as your account is active. If you cancel and ask us to delete your account, we delete your stored application data within 30 days, with the exception of records we are required to retain for tax, accounting, or fraud-prevention purposes (typically managed by Lemon Squeezy on our behalf). Server logs are kept for up to 30 days.

We use industry-standard practices: TLS for all traffic, encrypted database connections, encryption at rest, strict role-based access to production systems, and time-limited authentication sessions. No system is perfectly secure. If we ever detect a breach affecting your data, we will notify you promptly and in any event within the timeframes required by applicable law.

FairShare is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has submitted information to us, please contact us and we will delete it.

FairShare is operated from the United States and our service providers are based in the United States. If you access the service from outside the U.S., you understand that your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States.

We may update this policy. If a change materially affects how we handle your data, we will notify account holders by email and post a notice on the site at least 14 days before the change takes effect.
